NORTH SUMMIT 4 CLUSTER PLAN SUMMARY
Click here for some important information regarding our parish cluster group. Please take time to read this summary. Our plan is to be finalized and sent to the Bishop by December 15. If you would like to read the summary of the plan, which also appeared as an November 23 bulletin insert, click here.

CLUSTER PLANNING AND COORDINATION MINUTES
St. Barnabas – Northfield - October 27, 2008

Present: Rev. John Tarzana, Rev. Edward Kordas, Rev. Ralph Wiatrowski, Rev. David Trask, Adam Gockowski, Joe Kost, Laraine Heck, Beth Davis, Gae Ann Malec, Janice Bowen, Steve Bittel, Nancy Friebott, Toni Zobel, Rose Gordyan, Nick Villanti (for Sherri Moyer)
  • Father Ralph began the meeting in prayer and scripture reading, followed by a reflective question and petitions. The team expressed condolences to Father John for the loss of his mother.
  • September minutes were approved as reported. Parish web sites and links to Cluster parishes are functioning and if Our Mother of Sorrows does have a web site problem, it will be temporary. Father Ed’s birthday was acknowledged and cake will be shared following the meeting. No other ordinary business issues were raised.
  • Each team member had or was provided with a copy of the first Cluster Draft and the group, led by Father Ed, reviewed and recommended changes. All suggestions were appreciated, and most were accepted or change based on the group consensus. Beth Davis, plan writer, had brought her lap top to the meeting and corrected the plan as decisions were reached. Additional improvements will be completed following the meeting, and Draft #2 will be emailed to team members to circulate within each parish. It was agreed that a Cluster Plan Summary would be placed in bulletins November 9 including an invitation to review the full plan either on each parish web site, if available, or at clusterplanolg.cc, as offered by Father Trask. A hard copy should also be available in each Rectory. Team members involved in plan review by various parish groups, i. e., Parish Council, Finance Council, etc., should report changes to the Pastor (communication representative) who will determine whether a further change to the document should be considered and if the November 18 meeting will be necessary to review with team. Beth Davis should be contacted for any Draft updates, and Laraine Heck should be advised by November 14 if the November 18 meeting is necessitated so all members are contacted.
  • Overall, the team was very pleased with the Draft and does not anticipate major changes. Laraine agreed to be the Plan contact once finalized and forwarded to the Diocese.
  • The meeting was concluded in prayer led by Father Ed at approximately 8:45 p.m., and the team enjoyed cake and camaraderie sharing the success of our North Summit 4 Cluster Plan and its impact on our faith community, now and for the future.
