Social Concerns Committee Projects

CLIMATE CHANGE

During the month of May, the Social Concerns Committee will be focusing on climate change and the affect it will have on God's Creation. It is the hope of our committee to present information that will enhance our awareness of this issue and be reflective of our Catholic faith. We will provide resources to utilize in taking action and for further study and to create interest among the congregation in doing their part - no matter how great or small. POVERTY AT A GLANCE IN OHIO

Are we in this together, or should we look out only for ourselves?  In a country where everything seems less secure ~ our jobs, health care, pensions, national defense, the environment, our children's tuition, and even our marriages ~ it is easy to lose sight of the common good and the call to care for our neighbors as ourselves.  A culture of the common good is one in which people look out for each other and express concern for one another.

What are YOU doing to promote the common good?  Some ideas would be...
  • Volunteer to be a Big Brother or Sister
  • Take care of an elderly neighbor
  • Pray for the sick
