| Stewardship Mission and Vision |
Mission: To heighten the consciousness of faith, service, and gratitude in the
St. Barnabas Parish while encouraging parishioners to be vested in the parish community.
Vision: Establish an effective process for creating
continual awareness and nurturing of the gifts of time,
talent and treasure, among the parish community. Thus, by our
collaborative efforts, others are benefiting within the communities
and the world in which we live. The sharing of these gifts by all
fosters discipleship within St. Barnabas as a way of life, today,
tomorrow and forever. It is the most powerful way by which we can
demonstrate our love of God and gratitude for the many blessings given
us.

| Stewardship Definition |
Stewardship can be defined simply as making the most responsible
use of one's gifts and resources. Everything we have is a gift
from God: our time, our talents, and our financial resources.
Just as we recognize our talents and skills as gifts from God,
which we offer back in service, we need to recognize our
financial abundance as a gift, which we are also privileged
to be able to offer back to God.
Our money can be viewed then not as a necessary evil but as a tool
that we can use to contribute to the ongoing work of salvation in the
world. When we contribute our financial resources to our parish, we are
sharing in the ministries of that parish. We are all called to offer our
gifts to God, but there are times in our lives when all that we can
offer is our time to care for a sick child or a dying parent.
Even when our lives are less committed, we can only hope to
contribute to one or two areas of ministry in the parish.
However, when we intentionally and consistently support the work of the
parish, we are sharing in all the ministries.
